Parking
While free parking in Provincetown is very limited in season, there are municipal lots that offer reasonable rates and private lots all throughout the Town.
Parking on Commercial Street is banned during the peak season of May 1st through October 31st, but there are there are 2 manned parking lots – MacMillan Pier Parking Lot and Grace Hall Parking Lot which are both open 24/7. There are also numerous Kiosk Pay Stations throughout the Town and metered stations.
Provincetown has four Level 2 electric vehicle charging station ports in front of the MacMillan Pier Parking Lot off of Ryder Street Extension.
From November 1st through April 30th parking is free in Town including the municipal lots.

Province Lands Visitor Center
Province Lands Visitor Center is located near Race Point Beach. It features an observation deck on the upper level that remains open after center hours until midnight. Province Land Visitor Center’s observation deck is primarily used for free whale watching and getting a clear view of Race Point Beach. It also has exhibits highlighting dune education, free tours, and films highlighting its history throughout the day.

Provincetown Art Association and Museum
The Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) has free entry after 5 pm on Friday nights. PAAM is located in the town’s East End section, which has a high volume of art galleries that are open for display on select nights.

Provincetown Public Library
The Provincetown Public Library has free entry during business hours. Originally built as the Center Methodist Episcopal Church in 1860, it was eventually turned into the Chrysler Art Museum in 1958. The museum didn’t pan out, but the Town wouldn’t let the former church-turned-museum fade, so it was made into a library. On the 2nd floor of the library features a replica of the Rose Dorothea, a schooner that won the Lipton Cup back in 1907. It’s encouraged to catch a view of the Rose Dorothea from the library’s mezzanine level.
