Accessibility

Provincetown has striven to become more accessible

Provincetown’s beaches offer a number of accessible locations. Coast Guard and Herring Cove beaches provide accessible parking, restrooms, changing facilities, and beach wheelchairs. Herring Cove also offers accessible showers. The Cape Cod National Seashore’s website offers comprehensive accessibility information and a phone number for questions.

Provincetown itself has striven to become more accessible, but it struggles with some typical problems in an old Town, like uneven sidewalks and steep roads. The nonprofit group Accessible Provincetown provides a comprehensive list of accessible businesses around town.

“Everyone has a place here. You have the freedom to hold anyone’s hand. There is an experience you can have here that you can’t have anywhere else.”
