Celebrate Mardi Gras by the Sea at the 40th Annual Carnival Parade!

Get ready to enjoy the final weeks of summer this August 11-18 at the 40th Annual Provincetown Carnival: Mardi Gras by the Sea!

Kick off the week on Saturday, August 11 from 2-4 p.m. at the Krewe of Barkus: Welcome to Town Cocktail Party at the Crown & Anchor! Bring your pup and sip delicious cocktails. Prizes will be given for best dog costumes.

On Sunday, August 12 gather at the Pilgrim Monument at 10 a.m. for the Monumental Carnival Pride Flag Raising Ceremony. The event is free and open to the public and will feature special guest speakers you won’t want to miss.

Later in the day, cruise around Provincetown’s gorgeous harbor at the Opening Party: Cruise D’Krewes Sunset Boat Ride! Get your crew together and enjoy great music, beautiful views, dancing, and drinks. Event runs from 4-7:30 p.m. Boarding begins promptly at 4 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the event.

Wrap up your day at the opening night of the annual Nights of Bacchus Costume Ball at the Crown & Anchor from 8:30 p.m. – 1 a.m.! Costumes will be judged and prizes will be awarded. $10 cover charge.

Start your week off at the Rajin Cajun Annual Carnival Pool Party at Brass Key Guesthouse on Monday, August 13th from 1-5 p.m. Music provided by DJ Edil Hernandez and special guest Trenton Ducati. $25 cover charge.

From 12-4 p.m., enjoy Provincetown’s eclectic marketplace full of local vendors’ creations at Le Vendeur Marche Par La Mer on Bradford Street behind Provincetown Town Hall.

From 10 p.m. – 1 a.m., come jam at King Cakes at Gessellschaft drag dance party at Velvet! $10 cover charge.

On Tuesday, August 14th from 3 – 5 p.m., live it up at the Watership Inn’s 30th Annual Voodoo Party! Special guest star to make an appearance. $10 cover charge.

From 10 p.m. – 1 a.m., dance your heart out at Fat Tuesday: Beads and Boxers party at the A-House with DJ David LaSalle. $10 cover charge.

On Wednesday, August 15th, Tito’s and The Provincetown Business Guild present Northern DecaDance featuring Betty Who at Provincetown Town Hall! Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Early bird tickets are $36.00, regular price $45. VIP tickets available.

On Thursday, August 16th, enjoy the extravagance of the 40th Annual Carnival Parade! Come down to Commercial street at 3 p.m. dressed in your best costume fitting this year’s theme: Mardi Gras by the Sea!

Later in the day, party the night away at the annual Poseidon Underwear Party at Club Purgatory from 10:30 p.m. – 1 a.m.

On Friday, August 17th, close the festival off at Nights of Adonis Masquerade Party with VJTom Yaz and DJ Abel at 9 p.m. at the Crown & Anchor! $10 cover.
