     Broadway Stars Return To Provincetown Including
Tony Award Winners

Provincetown, MA: A sampling of what’s in store for you this summer: 

Since Judy Garland wowed her fans at Provincetown’s Madeira Room, the cape tip town has connected audiences with America’s best loved entertainers and this upcoming season is no exception. Kicking it off in May is award-winning song stylist Lainie Kazan, appearing May 20 at Provincetown’s newest entertainment venue, Fisherman’s Hall.  A regular on both the Ed Sullivan and Dean Martin shows, today’s audiences know Ms. Kazan as the mother of the bride in the hit film

On the theatrical side, the Oscar Wilde classic Salome launches the season at the Provincetown Theater May 3-20, followed by Peter Shaffer’s Tony award winning Amadeus May 24 – June 11. Upcoming productions include The Bitch is Back with Joe Posa as Joan Rivers July 5-9 and Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses July 12-August 20.

Laughter rules the day over the Memorial Day weekend with comics Suzanne Westenhoefer and Poppy Champlain at the Post Office Cabaret followed by the summer long appearances of Electra!, Trixie Mattel and Raja, winner of the Ru Paul Drag Race.
Cabaret Fest kicks off the summer with “A Sentimental Journey” (June 1 – 4) and the brightest stars of both Broadway and television showcase the Crown and Anchor’s Cabaret Serieswhose summer line-up includes:
Will & Grace star Leslie Jordan (July 8-9) followed by singer Seth Sikes, winning raves for his interpretation of Judy Garland’s greatest hits. Linda Eder puts her imprint on the Great American Songbook on July 24 & 25 followed by the Provincetown debut of Tony award winning Brian Stokes Mitchell on August 6.
Laughter is expected to rock Provincetown’s  historic Town Hall on August 12 with comic Margaret Cho followed by the multi-talented Billy Porter, Tony winning star of the hit musical Kinky Boots on August 19 & 20. And of course it wouldn’t be summer without Bobby Wetherbee at the keys and mic performing every weekend at the Central House.
The Broadway Channel’s Seth Rudetsky kick off the Broadway series at the Art House on July 1 & 2 with Tony award winner Michael Cerveris, star of the hit shows Assassins and Fun House.
On July 28 & 29 Melissa Errico, star of Finian’s Rainbow and a Tony nominee for her role in My Fair Lady’s Eliza Doolittle.  Cabaret superstar Marilyn Maye returns with pianist Billy Stritch (August 4 – 7) followed by Broadway’s Beth Malone (August 20 & 21), and Tony winner Faith Prince (August 25 & 26).
Megan Hilty, star of the hit TV show SMASH appears with Seth Rudetsky at the Town Hallon August 6 followed by Broadway favorite Sutton Foster, Tony winner for Anything Goes and Thoroughly Modern Millie, appearing with Seth Rudetsky August 13.

You will find no shortage of live entertainment at other clubs in town including Tin Pan Alleyfeaturing live jazz every Thursday and singer/songwriter Jon Richardson making his Provincetown debut with appearances every Sunday night. Boston favorite Brian Pattonmakes magic at the piano for multiple appearances this summer.

The Peregrine Theatre Ensemble brings all that jazz to the town’s newest entertainment venue with a summer long production of the musical Chicago. The show opens on July 6 and runs thru September 2 at the newly renovated Fisherman’s Hall.

Musical entertainment, literary stars and thoughtful discussion is happening at the historic Hawthorne Barn at the end of Miller Hill Road May 12 through June 10.  Highlights include literary lions Richard Russo and Anna Tinti on May 20 and on Friday, June 2: Dispatches From the Plague Years: David France and Andrew Sullivan.
