Plans for New Year’s celebration on Cape Cod, “First Light Provincetown,” are well under way in the town where thousands of revelers gather each year to send out the old and bring in the new. First Light Provincetown festivities open December 29th and offer a long weekend of special events through January 2nd.
Ptown sets a festive mood with streets awash in color and glitter as revelers in holiday fashions fit for a queen gather for a lineup of parties as romance and resolutions collide at midnight. Dive into the frigid waters of Cape Cod Bay for the New Year’s Day Polar Bear Plunge, shake off the shivers and warm up at the Aprés Chill Chili Party and, at dusk, stroll down MacMillian Pier as the skies explode with the First Light Fireworks show.
