The Provincetown Public Library and Provincetown Theater proudly announce the Second Annual Summer Short Play Series, a collaborative effort aimed at spotlighting local theater through entertaining presentations for both residents and seasonal visitors to our town. This will be the latest of several high profile initiatives that have helped the Library earn a strong reputation for enriching, community oriented programming on both a local and national level over the past three years.
Using our gorgeous remodeled building, the Library provides a platform for playwrights and actors to highlight upcoming summer theatrical productions in the form of five short performances held on Thursday afternoons from July 30 to September 3. Actors will present original 20 minute performances in the Marc Jacobs Reading Room each week at 4:00 pm. There will be no performance held on August 20, the day of the Carnival Parade.
“The Library is thrilled to have the opportunity to once again collaborate with the Provincetown Theater to produce a second season of the Summer Short Play Series,” said Library Director Matt Clark. “The reception to last year’s performances was overwhelmingly positive, and we are so happy to provide the same quality productions to our community again this summer.”
The plays, all created by local writers, will be shown in the following order:
OK, That’s It by Bob Cohen
Smoke by Maureen Condon
Kisses & Promises by Bragan Thomas
A Super Reunion by Candace Perry
Shedding Karma by Dian Hamilton
